Eager to leave an impression on a country that is looking to invest significantly in the modernization of its military capabilities, the cream of the Italian defence industry is present at the ongoing event, showcasing the latest in military technologies and equipment.
As many as 18 companies are exhibiting at the event under the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) banner, as part of the Italian Pavilion. Prominent among them are Leonardo, AREA, experts in technological solutions for security and investigations, Elettronica, Civitanavi Systems, which designs, develops, and manufactures solutions for inertial navigation, geo reference and stabilisation systems, Eurocontrol, maker of electromechanical and mechatronic applications, Feedback Italia, and ICS Technologies. The technologies range from unmanned aerial vehicles, cyber-security solutions, and solutions for maritime security.
The event is being held after a gap of four years, with the 2020 edition having to be scrapped because of the pandemic.
“IT IS AN OPPORTUNE TIME TO GET A CLOSER LOOK AT ITALIAN DEFENCE SYSTEMS UP CLOSE AND SEE WHY ITALY HAS ALWAYS BEEN AT THE FOREFRONT OF GLOBAL DEFENCE,” an ITA spokesperson said.
Leonardo is promoting the ATR 72MP patrol aircraft, which is equipped with the company’s Airborne Tactical Observation and Surveillance (ATOS) surveillance mission system. The company is offering the ATR 72MP to meet a Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) tender for two maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) that was issued in August 2020.
Elettronica designs, develops, and produces electronic defense equipment. Its offerings include phased array antennas, digital radio frequency memory, digital receiver, self-protections suites, passive data collection, and integrated systems. Feedback Italia specializes in designing and developing customized cyber security solutions and systems; its customers include governmental agencies, military institutions and global businesses. ICS Technologies develops, designs, manufactures and supplies coastal surveillance radar sensors, navigation systems, electro-optic systems, and tactical defence systems.
