Liebherr-Aerospace to Open New Service Centre in Dubai South

Our Bureau - : Feb 12, 2025 - : 12:27 am

Liebherr-Aerospace has signed an agreement with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH) to establish a new service centre at Dubai South. The agreement was formalised during the MRO Middle East exhibition 2025 in Dubai.

The facility, covering 2,400 square metres, is expected to begin operations in early 2026. It will provide aftermarket repair services for a range of Liebherr products used in commercial aircraft, business jets, and helicopters. The centre will be certified under EASA Part 145 regulations, with a primary focus on air management system component repairs.

Alex Vlielander, Chief Customer Officer at Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS, said: “The expansion of our MRO capacities is one of the key elements for continuous extension of our customer support and services portfolio in the Middle East region. It enables us to service more components in-house and in region, thus eliminating logistic routings and in parallel reducing turnaround times.”

Tahnoon Saif, CEO of MBRAH, commented: “We are pleased to sign this agreement with Liebherr-Aerospace. This partnership underlines our position in attracting the top players in the aviation sector to establish their presence at Dubai South and operate in an integrated economic environment where they can connect with international markets. We will spare no effort in supporting their expansion endeavors, in line with our mandate to solidify and cement Dubai’s position on the world aviation map.”

Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS, a division of the Liebherr Group based in Toulouse, France, supplies onboard solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. Its portfolio includes environmental control and thermal management systems, flight control and actuation systems, landing gear, and onboard electronics for civil and defence customers. The company also provides heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as hydraulic components for rail and commercial vehicles.

MBRAH, located in Dubai South, serves as a free-zone destination for the aerospace sector, offering infrastructure and services to airlines, private jet companies, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers. It also hosts maintenance facilities, training centres, and educational institutions, supporting Dubai’s aim of becoming a key aviation hub.
