Milrem Robotics to Unveil HAVOC 8×8 RCV at IDEX 2025

Our Bureau - : Feb 12, 2025 - : 12:36 am

Milrem Robotics will introduce its new 8x8 Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV), HAVOC, at IDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi from 17 to 21 February. Equipped with a hybrid electric powertrain, the vehicle is designed to enhance operational range, mobility, and stealth capabilities.

Milrem Robotics CEO Kuldar Väärsi commented: “The HAVOC RCV has been engineered to deliver unparalleled agility and high-speed manoeuvrability, enabling commanders to project force effectively across extended distances,” he said. He added that its hybrid propulsion system supports the integration of large-calibre weaponry while maintaining precision.

The vehicle shares common subsystems with Milrem Robotics’ other platforms, such as its tracked RCV, which is expected to reduce development, procurement, and maintenance costs. The HAVOC is also lighter than traditional manned 8x8 vehicles, providing improved off-road performance. Its electric driveline delivers instant torque, and pivot steering allows for a reduced turning radius, enhancing manoeuvrability in varied environments.

Designed to carry a payload of up to five tons, the vehicle can integrate different mission-specific equipment or weapon systems without affecting its performance. It also operates within a unified autonomy system compatible with Milrem’s existing robotic platforms.

Henrik Kotkas, Chief Product Officer at Milrem Robotics, said the HAVOC RCV represents a new standard in unmanned ground combat systems. “This platform combines cutting-edge technology with practical design considerations to deliver unmatched operational capabilities. It exemplifies our commitment to innovation and meeting the evolving needs of modern armed forces,” he stated.

The launch of the HAVOC at IDEX 2025 highlights Milrem Robotics’ role in developing autonomous military technology, with the new vehicle aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and adaptability in modern combat scenarios.
