NASA Langley Adopts Terma’s STAMP System

Our Bureau - : Jul 26, 2024 - : 9:57 pm

NASA Langley Research Center has awarded a contract to Terma to improve the data management and operational efficiency of its environmental test chambers, which simulate the vacuum of space for testing space-bound equipment, with Terma’s STAMP application.

NASA’s existing system, which uses in-house software, will be replaced by Terma’s application which will consolidate test data, enhance data storage and display, and control pressure and heating within the chambers. The upgrade is expected to streamline NASA’s testing processes and reduce maintenance needs.

STAMP supports extensive data acquisition from tens of thousands of channels, including temperatures, voltages, currents, flow rates, pressures, valve states, and switch states, enabling integration across various data sources. Additionally, STAMP offers advanced heater control, managing multiple heaters and power supplies with modes such as fixed setpoints, thermostatic modes, and sensor-derived setpoints. It also provides graphing, table-based displays, alarm generation, and 2D and 3D synoptics for data presentation. Users can handle and present data in real-time or historical formats and benefit from secure remote monitoring with customizable access permissions.

Terma will provide the product along with custom development to ensure it is compatible with NASA’s specific test equipment. This integration aims to provide NASA with a reliable, user-friendly solution that minimizes downtime and improves efficiency.

The shift to STAMP will allow NASA to move away from maintaining in-house software, enabling the agency to focus more on its core mission activities while benefiting from a robust, low-maintenance system that ensures consistent and accurate test results.

Terma’s solutions are designed to empower industries with enhanced operational efficiency and reliability through innovative thermal control and comprehensive data management capabilities.
