RECARO Aircraft Seating (China) Co., Ltd. has been named the 2023-2024 Best Seat Supplier by Japan Airlines (JAL). The recognition highlights RECARO’s after-sales support and adherence to the Japanese service ethos of "Omotenashi," a term associated with hospitality and mindfulness rooted in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. The concept gained broader recognition after the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics and has become a standard for service excellence in Japan.
This is the first time JAL has introduced an award specifically for seat manufacturers, acknowledging their contribution to customer service. JAL, known for receiving multiple SKYTRAX awards, including for its Economy Class seats, presented the award to RECARO in recognition of its long-term partnership and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Mark Hiller, CEO of RECARO Aircraft Seating and RECARO Holding, stated: "Excellence is a core value at RECARO, and being recognised for our outstanding service by an airline partner like JAL is a great honour for us. This award emphasises the importance we place on building trust with our customers and delivering award-winning services."
Irene Tan, General Manager at RECARO Aircraft Seating (China), expressed her gratitude: "The entire RECARO team is incredibly proud to receive this best supplier award. I feel deeply honoured for the team and their dedication to supporting JAL in line with our RECARO brand DNA of 'feel performance.' Thank you, Japan Airlines, for this wonderful token of appreciation."
Kojiro Yamashita, Vice President of Procurement at JAL, commended RECARO's performance: "Japan Airlines wants to express its recognition and appreciation for the remarkable capabilities of RECARO. Despite disruptions in the supply chain and challenges in maintaining a healthy supply system, a high level of performance has been maintained. The excellent and sustainable practices have significantly contributed to our success and the comfort of our passengers. We highly value the partnership and look forward to sustainable improvements in quality and services."
Japan Airlines operates over 380 destinations globally and has been consistently recognised as a 5-Star and World Class Airline. Known for its commitment to passenger satisfaction, the airline has garnered numerous accolades, including consecutive SKYTRAX awards for its Economy Class seats.
