Sentrycs Unveils AI-Based Counter-Drone System

Our Bureau - : Jan 31, 2025 - : 1:21 am

Sentrycs has introduced HORIZON, an AI-driven counter-drone system designed to detect a wide range of DIY drones, including those that were previously undetectable. The system analyses radio frequency (RF) signals, identifying transmission patterns emitted by drones, remote controls, and other communication devices. It is capable of processing analog, digital, and video transmissions.

HORIZON employs machine learning algorithms to interpret unknown communication patterns, allowing it to function without relying on pre-existing signal libraries. By identifying transmission signals that might otherwise go unnoticed, it provides early warnings and actionable intelligence for counter-drone measures such as visual confirmation and signal disruption.

While its primary function is detection, HORIZON is designed to eventually cover the full cycle of detection, tracking, identification, and mitigation (DTIM), including drones not previously recorded in the system. It will support all communication protocols and autonomously integrate new ones as they emerge.

Ami Shalev, VP of Research at Sentrycs, emphasized the significance of this innovation: “Sentrycs is advancing counter-drone technology to exceed current capabilities. These AI-driven capabilities ensure Sentrycs solutions evolve alongside the DIY drone landscape, adapting to threats with precision and efficiency. Building on the capabilities of the HORIZON, the engine is being developed into a fully self-learning DTIM (Detection, Tracking, Identification, and Mitigation) platform. This next-generation solution will address all DIY drones, regardless of type or transmission technology, ensuring comprehensive protection and operational efficiency".

Founded in 2017, Sentrycs develops counter-drone solutions based on protocol manipulation technology. The company provides systems for passive detection, tracking, identification, and mitigation of unauthorised drones in various environments, including airports, borders, prisons, and critical infrastructure. The company has offices in Israel and the United States and serves customers worldwide.
