Thales and Malaysia Airlines have entered into a long-term agreement for the provision of avionics component availability and repair services for the airline’s fleet of 20 A330neo aircraft.
Under the agreement, Thales will manage repairs for its avionics products and ensure the availability of spare parts. Stock will be maintained at Malaysia Airlines’ main hub and Thales’ Asia-Pacific repair facility in Singapore. This arrangement aims to maintain aircraft performance and enhance fleet reliability.
The agreement is part of a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) contract. Thales, as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for Malaysia Airlines' Flight Management and Surveillance systems since 2024, will offer high-quality repair services to improve operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
Thales’s Aviation Global Services (AGS) will provide 24/7 Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support. AGS offers comprehensive solutions, including technical support, training, parts trading, and line maintenance. The services also include Repair by the Hour (RBTH) and asset availability programmes to deliver cost-effective service to customers.

The agreement further strengthens the long-standing partnership between Thales and Malaysia Airlines, which earlier this year selected Thales's Flight Management and Surveillance systems for the A330neo fleet.
