Kawasaki- Toshiba Infrastructure Systems & Solutions Corporation (TISS) is presenting its counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) solutions at the ongoing DSEI, in addition to highlighting its growing defence portfolio. Among the products being showcased are its C-UAS Solution, Coastal surveillance 3D radars, Airborne surveillance radars, and Quantum Key Distribution portfolios.
TISS has a growing portfolio of C-UAS Solutions that can counter the rapidly proliferating threat from drones. TISS’ C-UAS Solution integrates different types of sensors with an autonomous hunting drone. The sensors, such as radars and radio frequency (RF) sensors, and cameras work together to create a multi-layered detection network, which can identify suspicious targets flying around a protected area. Once detected and identified, the autonomous hunting drone tracks and captures targets to mitigate the threat.
In addition to developing new drone detection systems, Toshiba has also developed highly safe rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries (SCiB). Toshiba has delivered advanced radar systems for naval, airborne, ground surveillance, air traffic control and weather radar applications. The company has been producing radar systems since 1937.
Toshiba is also committed to delivering world’s leading cyber-physical-system technology to protect the private information of citizens and companies. Its Quantum Key Distribution offering applies the fundamental laws of Quantum Physics to secure network communications. Based on decades of scientific research, Quantum Key Distribution technology provides organizations with the ability to revolutionize their IT infrastructure with the most secure communications known today.
Toshiba started research into quantum cryptography in 2003 at the Cambridge Research Laboratory of Toshiba Research Europe Limited. Since then it has gone on to demonstrate a number of notable world firsts. Toshiba was the first to announce quantum key distribution over 100 km of fiber in 2004 and the first with a continuous key rate exceeding 1 Mbit/second in 2010 and 10 Mbit/second in 2017.
