Sabre Corporation, a software and technology company powering the global travel industry, has announced a new agreement with Asia Pacific’s Regional Airline of the Year, Vistara.
This new deal will enable the Indian carrier to optimize its partnerships with other airlines while enhancing its scheduling capabilities using components of the Sabre Commercial Platform.
The full-service carrier, which operates on domestic India routes as well as international flights to Singapore, Bangkok, Dubai, Colombo and Kathmandu, has adopted Sabre Codeshare Manager and partner solution Sabre Schedule Manager.
“Vistara has achieved significant growth in recent years, and we want to build on this success by continually expanding our fleet, boosting passenger numbers, growing our network and commencing long haul international flights. To do all of this, it is essential that we partner with industry leaders who can aid in our growth,” said Vinod Kannan, Chief Commercial Officer of Vistara.
“Sabre’s scheduling suite will equip Vistara with the insight required to deploy optimized schedules while working with our code-share airline partners. We’re thrilled to be working with Sabre as we enter a phase of transition to become a mid-sized global airline,” he added.
Vistara joins a portfolio of more than 80 airlines that have already implemented Sabre’s leading technology solutions to optimize complex schedule and partnership management processes.
Under the new agreement, Sabre solutions will help Vistara deliver robust, accurate and feasible schedules in a rapidly changing market environment, while minimizing schedule duplication and enhancing productivity
It will also help better manage partnerships with other airlines by synchronizing and automating marketing and flight information
It will proactively evaluate codeshare flight connection opportunities, helping Vistara to grow revenue alongside its geographic footprint.
The announcement further strengthens Vistara’s partnership with Sabre as the carrier already has an existing GDS agreement with Sabre.
“Vistara has solid and exciting plans for rapid growth. As it strengthens and enters into partnerships with other airlines, it needs a strong technology partner to drive these ambitions forward. We are thrilled to be working with Vistara, which selected Sabre after a thorough evaluation of the relevant market solutions,” said Rakesh Narayanan, vice president and regional general manager, South Asia and Pacific airline sales, Sabre Travel Solutions. “Sabre’s scheduling and codeshare solutions are designed to help airlines increase operating profitability and productivity, and we look forward to supporting Vistara in its impressive growth trajectory targets.”
