AAR has been named by Forbes among “America’s Best Midsize Employers” for 2019. It is the second consecutive year that the company has been chosen for the award, which is based on an independent survey conducted by Statista polling over 30,000 U.S. employees.
“We are very excited to once again be named as one of America’s Best Midsize Employers,” said John M. Holmes, AAR President & CEO. “Our team is the foundation of everything we do at AAR, I am fortunate to work with such a talented group of people who share the same dedication to AAR’s core philosophy of ‘Doing It Right’ which guides every one of us every day.”
In the United States, AAR employs over 4,000 people, primarily aircraft maintenance mechanics, and has a total global workforce of approximately 6,000 people around the world. “AAR has been able to retain the personal and engaged culture of a small company even as we have grown globally,” said Holmes. “Every business unit is connected and encouraged to share ideas on shaping our company’s operations, efficiency and work environment. We also provide expansive development opportunities to empower every team member to grow within the company.”
The company provides tuition reimbursement for continued education and certification, employee mentorship programs, learning development sessions, networking events, and frequent opportunities to directly connect with leadership. It also offers competitive pay and a full range of insurance benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, workers’ compensation, as well as a 401(k) plan, company-paid holidays and paid time off.
The company is based in the Chicago area and has service facilities in Illinois, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Oklahoma, as well as operations worldwide.
