Lion Air, the largest Indonesian low-cost airline, announced that the company will start a new route connecting three Indonesian cities. This new route will connect Bandar Lampung, Yogyakarta, and Denpasar, and will be served daily starting on 21 January.
"This new route is expected to increase tourist and business visits to these three areas which have great tourism, cultural, and economic potential," said Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, in the airline’s official release on Wednesday (Jan. 3).
Danang further stated that the new route may facilitate a better time and money-saving measure for travelers in those cities since there will be no need for transit in Jakarta or other destinations. Furthermore, “…it's easy and comfortable because you have the opportunity to visit three different destinations in one trip," He said.
The new route will start from Radin Inten II International Airport (TKG) at Bandar Lampung in Lampung province, Sumatra Island, to Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) at Kulon Progo regency in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Java Island, before continuing to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) at Denpasar, Bali province.
In this new route, Lion Air has designated the Eastern-bound flight from Bandar Lampung as JT3566 and the Western-bound return flight from Denpasar as JT3567. The planned schedules for these flights are as follows:
Flight JT3566: TKG to YIA: 09:00 to 11:00 Western Indonesia Time (UTC +7). YIA to DPS: 11:40 Western Indonesia Time (UTC +7) to 14:05 Central Indonesia Time (UTC +8).
