The virtual who is who of the UAE defence industry is at the ongoing event, coming together under the UAE National Pavilion to showcase innovative products and capabilities. The pavilion is organized by the Emirates Defence Companies Council (EDCC).
Over 50 ‘Made in UAE’ products and solutions – from multi-purpose vehicles, precision-guided munitions, secure communication solutions, and unmanned systems are on display. Among the companies that are at the show are Halcon, Al Tariq, Adasi, Oryxlabs, Abu Dhabi Ship Building, Advanced Concepts, Katim, LDS, LLA, and Malath, all part of EDGE Group. The pavilion and the presence of the companies is part of a multipronged strategy to promote UAE defence products globally.
While Al Tariq specializes in advanced manufacturing of precision-guided munitions and missile systems, Adasi (Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments) designs, manufactures, and maintains next-generation unmanned systems for air, land and sea. The company is producing a range of indigenous UAVs for the Emirates’ armed forces and for potential export. Halcon, which produced UAE’s first air defence missile, manufactures precision-guided systems and munitions.
The significant UAE presence at the event is yet another indication of the rapidly growing relationship between UAE and Türkiye in the defence realm. A high-level Emirati delegation had attended the previous edition of SAHA Expo.
"Tawazun Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, remains committed to supporting the Emirates Defence Companies Council by providing essential resources to enhance the country's stature and showcase its defence manufacturing capabilities, which are on par with global standards," said Muammar Abdulla Abushehab, CEO of Tawazun Council.
Just weeks before the ongoing event, the Emirates Defence Companies Council (EDCC) and the Turkish Defence and Aerospace Cluster Association (OSSA) jointly organised a "UAE- Türkiye Defence Industry Cooperation Forum” in Abu Dhabi. At the event that was supported by the UAE Ministry of Defence and Tawazun Council, the EDCC and OSSA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote collaboration between defence and security companies in the UAE and Türkiye.
