Singapore-based ST Engineering is making a strong push into the Vietnamese market with an expanded presence at this year’s Vietnam International Defence Expo. The company is showcasing its cutting-edge capabilities in three key areas: Defence Platform Electronics, Advanced Communications and Connectivity, and Multi-Domain Training and Simulation Solutions.
“We’ve increased our presence at this event to demonstrate our commitment to the Vietnamese market and are optimistic about further strengthening our footprint here in the coming years,” a company spokesperson shared.
Showcasing Advanced Defence Platform Electronics
One of the highlights at the expo is ST Engineering’s innovative Defence Platform Electronics solutions, designed to transform military vehicles into highly networked, intelligent systems. Central to this offering is the AGIL suite of technologies, which supports modern battlefields in a few key areas:
• AGIL Connect: A next-generation connectivity and communication suite.
• AGIL Sense: Integrates intelligent and intuitive sensor technologies.
• AGIL Edge: Ruggedized, high-performance computing systems.
• AGIL Vision: AI-enabled video intelligence that allows flexible search of video streams from dynamic sensors in the field.
All these technologies are seamlessly integrated within an armoured vehicle through ST Engineering’s Vehicular Integrated Communications System (VICS), which acts as a digital backbone for platforms. The fully digital vehicle network allows radio communications to be shared across all operators within the network, eliminating the limitations of traditional analog systems.
The platform also features a 360-degree vision system with integrated daylight and thermal cameras, providing enhanced situational awareness. Data from vehicle sensors is processed in real-time using ST Engineering’s modular computing server and shared with the Integrated Battlefield Management System - a networked command-and-control (C2) system that delivers superior battlefield intelligence. The system also supports SATCOM integration for extended connectivity.
Pioneering Private 5G Networks with AGIL Connect
ST Engineering’s AGIL Connect stands out as a next-generation connectivity solution that provides high-bandwidth, localized 5G networks for critical operations such as border control and disaster relief. Key features include:
• The ability to establish a private, standalone 5G communication bubble with high security and throughput.
• A Unified Communications Suite that seamlessly integrates different connectivity networks such as radio, cellular and satellite communications across multiple devices and systems.
• Significant performance improvements over conventional 4G networks, offering up to 10 times the bandwidth and data capacity.
The flexibility of this high-capacity broadband solution makes it ideal for deployed forces and emergency response teams, enabling rapid and secure communication in dynamic environments.
Commitment to Growth in Vietnam
ST Engineering’s robust presence at the Vietnam International Defence Expo underscores its commitment to forging strong partnerships and meeting the evolving needs of Vietnam’s defence and security sectors. By showcasing these cutting-edge technologies, the company aims to demonstrate how its solutions can enhance operational efficiency, connectivity, and situational awareness for its partners in the region.
This strategic move reflects ST Engineering’s vision of playing a pivotal role in Vietnam’s defence modernization efforts, while also exploring broader opportunities for collaboration in the Southeast Asian market.
