Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu has taken over as the 23rd Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF)

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu is New PAF Chief

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu has taken over as the 23rd Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu received the ranks of Air Chief Marshal and the “Command Sword” from outgoing PAF Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan. 

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu will continue with PAF’s transformation as part of its Next Generation Air Force – 2047 plan.

Prior to his announcement as the next PAF Chief, he was posted at Air Headquarters Islamabad as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Administration). He has been awarded with Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military).

He has also served as Director General Projects, Director General Air Force Strategic Command and Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Air Defence) at Air Headquarters Islamabad. He is a graduate of Combat Commanders’ School, Air War College and Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS), UK.

He has served in staff appointments as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (OR&D), Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Training-Officers) and Additional Secretary at Ministry of Defence.

He has commanded a Fighter Squadron, a Flying Wing, an Operational Air Base and a Regional Air Command. 

Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu was born on on 16 April, 1965 and commissioned into GD (P) Branch of the PAF in April, 1986.

The outgoing Air Chief, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan was presented with a four-ship formation flypast of JF-17 Thunder aircraft over the venue.
