The Ministry of Interior of Bahrain has signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters to acquire nine H145 helicopters. The aircraft will be operated by the Police Aviation Command for tasks including law enforcement and emergency medical services.

Olivier Michalon, Executive Vice President for Global Business at Airbus Helicopters, expressed appreciation for Bahrain's selection of the H145 model. “We are very proud that the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain has chosen to become a new member of the H145 worldwide community,” he said. He highlighted the helicopter's multi-role capabilities, adding, “We are sure that the H145 will quickly become a valuable new asset for the Bahraini police. As a truly multi-role helicopter, the H145's versatility makes it a key asset for public safety missions around the world and in the region."

Michalon also noted the aircraft's growing use in the Middle East, stating that more than 60 units are already operational in the region. He added that the H145 is in demand for various applications, including emergency medical services, energy sector operations, law enforcement, and utility missions.

The latest version of the H145 features a new five-bladed rotor, which increases the helicopter's payload capacity by 150 kg. The rotor's bearingless design simplifies maintenance, enhancing the aircraft's reliability and serviceability. It also improves ride comfort for passengers and crew.

Globally, over 1,700 helicopters from the H145 family are in service, with a combined total of eight million flight hours. The helicopter is powered by twin Safran Arriel 2E engines and includes advanced systems such as full authority digital engine control (FADEC) and the Helionix digital avionics suite. Its four-axis autopilot enhances safety and reduces pilot workload. Additionally, the H145 is noted for its low noise levels and lower CO2 emissions compared to similar aircraft in its class.
