Nexter and PT Pindad agreed to cooperate on the supply of the latest generation 120 mm tank ammunition for the Indonesian Army during Eurosatory 2022 defense show in Paris, France on Tuesday (14 June).
Abraham Mose, CEO of PT Pindad said: “PT Pindad, an Indonesian national defense industry, is working on completing portfolio of medium to large caliber ammunition, not only the small caliber ammunition that already existing since 1980s. PT Pindad is willing to have a strategic partnership with Nexter as a global known company with high quality products and that has a complete portfolio of medium to large caliber ammunitions that meet with the needs of the Indonesian Armed Forces”.
Dominique Guillet, Nexter Executive Vice President Weapon and Ammunition said: “As a European leader in medium and large ammunition, Nexter is committed to establish long-term partnerships with the Indonesian industry to enhance Indonesia’s local high-tech industrial content. Our cooperation with Indonesia’s largest land defence systems company PT Pindad for the complete range of 120 mm ammunition is a perfect illustration of this ambition and we proud of this new success.”
The agreement between Nexter and the Indonesian state-owned enterprise, PT Pindad, will cover a complete range of 120 mm tank ammunition, including SHARD APFSDS, High Explosive, and training rounds. The agreement will also strengthen the Indonesian industry's capabilities by enabling local manufacturing of large-caliber tank ammunition in Indonesia.
In February this year, Nexter and PT Pindad also signed a cooperation agreement to produce a range of medium-caliber ammunitions up to 105 mm.
