South Africa’s Paramount Group has unveiled N-Raven, a long-range swarming UAV system, at the ongoing IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
The drone system is designed to improve tactical situational awareness and precision strike capabilities while minimizing personnel risk and collateral damage. The drone swarm has been manufactured by Paramount Advanced Technologies, a subsidiary.
Capable of targeting both static and moving targets, the N-Raven can be launched from land-, air- and sea-based platforms. According to the company, the system has been designed to enable technology transfer and portable manufacturing within partner countries.
The 41-kilogram drone has a cruise speed of about 180 kph, a 2-hour endurance, and operates with a low signature. The system can be equipped with sensors to detect, identify, locate and report on targets, and can carry 10-15-kilogram payloads for up to 250 kilometers.
