The Italian Coast Guard’s new self-righting and unsinkable patrol boat CP420 “Natale De Grazia,” is fitted with the SOVERON communications suite from Rohde & Schwarz.
The integration of Rohde & Schwarz equipment on the new vessel continues decades of collaboration between the two organisations.
The Natale De Grazia was launched in December and the new vessel was built by Intermarine. The HF radios from Rohde & Schwarz also provide a security architecture that allows secure voice communications, i.e. third parties will not be able to intercept the information exchange.

The Italian Coast Guard’s new patrol boat is fitted with Rohde & Schwarz’s SOVERON communications suite, which includes the R&S M3SR Series4100 High Frequency (HF) radios, which enable authorities to patrol large coastal areas while allowing the ship’s crew to effectively exchange information with the shore and other vessels, as well as joint forces and governmental authorities.
All Rohde & Schwarz equipment complies with the relevant MIL-STDs for naval applications and is trusted by more than 40 navies.
