UK based SEA, a company developing and manufacturing advanced protective defence technology, is highlighting its intelligent Torpedo Launcher System (TLS), which plays a crucial role in multi-layered ship and fleet protection. It is also in service with a range of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries. Earlier this year, SEA was appointed to supply the TLS to Hyundai Heavy Industries for two new Philippine Navy corvettes following a successful delivery of the system for the Philippine Navy’s frigates.

The system is in service across the entire UK Type 23 Royal Navy Class, and its countermeasures system across the Type 23, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Albion, and Type 45 Classes, and we look forward to introducing our leading capability to the Indonesian defence market.”
The UK based firm was also recently contracted to upgrade its torpedo launcher and countermeasures systems on the UK Royal Navy’s Type 23 frigates. As part of this contract, and as the legacy design authority for the countermeasures technical refresh, SEA will upgrade the ships’ countermeasure capability with a new fixed barrel system to provide an effective response to modern naval threats. SEA is now bringing this next generation capability to the export market.
SEA will also highlighting its Krait Defence System which provides an unmanned Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capability and is key to securing operational advantage in a congested underwater battlespace. “The threats to navies are complex and ever-changing. Our systems offer the flexibility to address these evolving challenges and provide protection for their fleets,” added David Hinds. “We hope to supply the Indonesian Navy with the latest capabilities to meet these operational threats. In particular our flexible and modular Krait Defence System is well suited to the shallow Southeast Asian seas, and we see significant potential for this technology in the region.”
