Airbus Helicopters and Babcock have secured a contract to provide support for 48 EC145s operated by the French Ministry of Interior. The 12-year agreement, beginning this year, was signed with the Direction de la Maintenance Aéronautique (DMAé), responsible for aircraft maintenance within the French government.
“The Sécurité Civile and Gendarmerie Nationale play a key role in safeguarding our communities in France. We are proud to have signed this contract, which demonstrates their confidence in us and strengthens our partnership.” said Romain Trapp, Airbus Helicopters’ Executive Vice President Customer Support and Services.
“We measure our responsibility in guaranteeing that their EC145s are available 24/7 for their critical missions.”
The contract encompasses maintenance support for the 33 EC145s operated by Sécurité Civile and the 15 EC145s operated by the Gendarmerie air forces across 41 bases in France, including five in overseas territories. It includes technical assistance, spare parts provision, logistics solutions, technical data management, and software support.
Airbus Helicopters and Babcock are committed to ensuring the availability of Sécurité Civile and Gendarmerie EC145s for critical missions, such as search and rescue, emergency medical services, fire fighting, and law enforcement operations.
Additionally, Airbus is dedicated to modernising the Sécurité Civile and Gendarmerie’s helicopter fleet, with deliveries of 42 H145s, beginning in 2024.
