Satair Opens New Logistics Centre in Hamburg

Our Bureau - : Sep 18, 2024 - : 3:10 pm

Satair, a subsidiary of Airbus Services, has inaugurated a new Logistics and Service Centre in Hamburg, Germany. The new facility, situated in the Wilhelmsburg district, spans 56,500 square metres, making it the largest warehouse within the Airbus Group. It will focus on handling tools and large parts such as long-term storage items and kits.

This facility is the company’s second in Hamburg, complementing its existing Service and Logistics Centre in Fuhlsbüttel, which manages smaller parts. Together, the two centres form an integrated logistics network across both locations.

Thomas Moik, Satair’s Chief Operating Officer, commented: “Strategically positioned in Wilhelmsburg, our new facility complements our existing operations in Hamburg, aiming for enhanced customer satisfaction while also ensuring company growth. This expansion significantly enhances our ability to serve customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, in particular, while also reinforcing our global service reach.”

Plans are also underway to expand the Wilhelmsburg facility by introducing in-house carpentry for customised shipping solutions and tool repair services. These additions are expected to further bolster Satair’s capacity to provide comprehensive services.

Satair employs over 1,100 people and operates across 10 locations worldwide. The company plays a key role within Airbus, supporting the entire life cycle of aircraft with a range of material management products and services.
